By tradition, the Hawkesbury Legion
pinned poppies on local mayors during the launch of this year's poppy campaign.

Par tradition, la Légion de
Hawkesbury épingle des coquelicots sur les maires de la région, signalant le début de
la campagne de coquelicot de cette année. De gauche à droite, première rangée:
Gary Barton (Champlain), Jean Charlebois (Hawkesbury), Robert Kirby (Hawkesbury Est) &
Jean-Yves LaLonde (Alfred-Plantagenet); deuxième rangée: Gerry Hachey, Robert Parent,

Fanfare de cornemuse et de batterie de la GRC étaient présents lors de la parade du 60e
anniversaire de la Légion de Hawkesbury, un événement qui a eu lieu le 15 septembre.

The RCMP Pipes and Drums attended
the September 15 parade commemoration the Hawkesbury Legion's 60th anniversary.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Pipes and Drums of the National Capital Region were formed in the spring of 2000. Wearing
the very distinctive RCMP tartan and the world-renowned Red Serge of the RCMP, the Band
performs under the direction of Drum Major Graham Muir, Pipe Major Graeme Ogilvie, Pipe
Sergeant Gilbert Young and Drum Sergeant Garth Patterson. Sergeant Stephane Drouin is in
command of the RCMP Flag Party.
The RCMP Pipe Band and Dancers are comprised of citizen volunteers, police officers and
employees of the Force and operates with the full support of the Assistant Commissioner
Ghyslaine Clement, Commanding Officer of "A" Division, Ottawa, Ontario.
The RCMP Pipes and Drums (NCR) perform regularly for the public in support of regional and
local community endeavours including charity fundraisers, fairs, festivals, parades, sport
and cultural awards ceremonies. As part of their official duties, the RCMP Pipes and Drums
(NCR) also perform for State and official occasions, and associated RCMP ceremonial
functions.

On November 10, 2007 a special
ceremony took place in Alfred. Many dignitaries were present to unveil and dedicate
a new monument (cenotaph). In addition the rememberance day ceremonies took place
immediately following the dedication.
Le 10 novembre
2007, une cérémonie a eu lieu à Alfred. Plusieurs dignitaires étaient présents
pour le dévoilement d'un nouveau document (cénotaphe). Les cérémonies du jour du
souvenir on eu lieu à la suite du dévoilement.
